This postcard shows a steam locomotive at the platform of St Anne's Park Station, a stop on the line connecting Bristol with London (this train is incoming to Bristol). The photograph was taken from the bridge over the tracks, on the eponymous Newbridge Road, from which the tunnel entrance can still be seen, even though the station itself is long gone.

The hand-written title suggests this is an early postcard from the portfolio of local photographer William Albert Winchester. The earliest known postmark on this postcard is 16 Sept 1913.
